Quantum Dot Security Ink and Anti-Counterfeit Ink

p-6.jpg

The organic fluorescent dyes used in security inks today typically emit only light of a given wavelength with respect to the incident wavelength. Quantum dots can be tuned to exhibit a variety of emission wavelengths simply by changing the dots' sizes, as well as to have wavelengths that change with the wavelength of incident light. Combining these quantum dots with materials for security inks will enable more complex incident wavelength and emission wavelength, thus improving security.
